Where: Rastelli Market Fresh
Why: You know why…
Price: $11.99 on a six pack
I was out doing my thing, grabbing what I needed to make chili for New Year’s Eve, when I spotted ‘Han Shot First’ from @EvilGeniusBeer.
This isn’t generally a place I grab beer, they’re usually a little pricier than the usual spots I frequent, but when I saw this beer on the shelf I couldn’t resist. I had to have it.
For those of you not familiar with the area: Grocery stores that sell alcohol aren’t very common around these parts. I know, it’s some “bull-dinky”, but we definitely don’t have a lack of liquor stores, so it’s cool.
Needless to say, but I’ll say it anyway, I had super high hopes for this beer.
I mean, come on, it’s called ‘Han Shot First’.
You get it.
I was pretty pumped to crack this one open, so I did.
There’s really not much to say about this one, other than the fact it exceeded all expectations…
“May the Beer Be With You” and whatnot.
This is, by far, my favorite Evil Genius beer to date.
Everything works here.
The smell, the taste, it’s all good.
@PinkPirateNinja even took a sip, and actually liked it!
She generally doesn’t like “good” beer, so I was shocked, given that ‘Han Shot First’ is a Double IPA.
I had only planned on having one of these, given that it’s an 8% brew, but it was so good I had two.
Okay, that’s a lie, I had three.
Whatever, don’t judge…
The Straight Hops: 5 out of 5 Kegs
Yes, I enjoyed it that much.
Note for the “IBU Freaks” out there: This beer doesn’t clock in at “273” IBU’s, only 30, so just relax and enjoy a non palate wrecker for a change.
