Double Nickel Brewery

20160130_121839Double Nickel Brewery (Pennsauken, NJ) opened their doors in October 2015. Since it’s now almost February 2016, I figured I should stop slacking and get over there and try some of their brews.
So I did.
They feature 8 beers on tap, and I chose to go with a flight of the top 4 listed on the Beer Menu.

The Pilsner 5.6%:
Not too shabby. Especially for a Pilsner. I go into this style with very low expectations, but this one was a pleasant surprise.
The Straight Hops: 3 out of 5 Kegs

The Vienna Lager 5.3%:
This one wasn’t bad, but I’m cool with only having it in the flight, for now. I would probably order a pint next time. I’m thinking there’s gonna be a next time, for sure.
The Straight Hops: 3 out of 5 Kegs

The Session IPA 4.7%:
Oh my. We have a winner here. The flavors just had a party with my taste buds. This is “take home a growler worthy”, and I did.
The Straight Hops: 4 out of 5 Kegs

The IPA 8%:
This one seems to be more of a Double/Imperial IPA at 8%. It’s pretty good though, the taste lingers just enough until your next sip. If I didn’t read that it was 8% ABV, I wouldn’t have believed it, the alcohol in this one is masked very well. I could see myself having a few of these every now and then.
The Straight Hops: 3 out of 5 Kegs

The Double Nickel Brewery itself is pretty massive, so I’m assuming they get quite a big turnout at times. There wasn’t much going on at opening time on a Saturday, but that’s just the way I like it! If you’re ever in the area, you should definitely check this place out.

I like beer. I drink beer. Sometimes, I even review beer. If I feel like it...
