“A triple is as a triple does.”~My mother.
Okay, you got me, she’s probably never said that in her life, and she doesn’t even like beer. (Should I disown her?)
I just thought it sounded pretty cool, and was a good intro for this post.
I imagine if she did actually say that, it was probably in reference to Sambuca, so it definitely could have happened!
You don’t know.
Time for beer!
I don’t mess around with triple IPAs all that often.
Generally speaking, I prefer to enjoy a few beers hanging out with the ever so lovely @PinkPirateNinja, without forgetting how to talk.
You know what I’m saying.
Drinking 3 triples is a waaaaay different story than drinking 3 lower ABV beers.
You get it.
Sometimes though, ya just have to do it.
Weighing in at 9.6%, Sierra Nevada’s 2018 Edition Hoptimum Triple IPA (damn, that’s a mouthful) was a must buy when I saw it sitting on the shelf.
It was super good.
And super dangerous.
The alcohol content was masked surprisingly well, as I probably could have downed multiple without realizing how sloshed I was getting, but I stopped at one for the night.
There was a nice bite to this one, but not overpowering.
A slight linger after each sip, but in a good way.
If you see it, you’ll probably get it regardless of my recommendation, but I’m giving you the thumbs up anyway!
If you do find yourself downing a full six, you’re probably gonna see Deadpool riding a Unicorn, but I guess that’s not a bad thing?
