Founders ‘KBS 2017’

I’ll drink a stout on occasion, but I don’t buy stouts on purpose. The ones I do end up trying are thrown in to mix packs, and they’re just kinda there, so of course I’m gonna drink ’em! I had no choice but to grab ‘KBS 2017’ though, because duh, it’s a super special brew! Any beer that’s limited to one per customer and $8.99 for a single 12 oz. bottle has to be super awesome, right? Well, I’m sure some beer at that price and exclusivity can’t all beRead More

Dogfish Head ‘ World Wide Stout’ 2016

What: Look Up! When: 12/13/16 Where: Kings Grant Wine and Liquors Why: It’s a Dogfish Beer Price: $10.99+tax on a single bottle I sat on this bottle for a few weeks, so I finally decided to crack it open and give it a try. Well, I didn’t actually “sit” on it, that would just be weird. But, you probably knew what I meant. Stouts definitely aren’t my “Go-To” Beer, but I like to change it up every now and then, especially when it’s from a great brewery like Dogfish Head.Read More

Joseph James ‘Red Fox Russian Imperial Stout’

Joseph James is a brewery located in Henderson, Nevada. Though I’ve never seen any of their products in stores near me, I’ve had the pleasure of drinking four of their beers over the past year or so. I have a nephew who lives in Vegas and he turned me on to this Brewery. Because of him I was able to try Rye’d N Dirty (a black IPA), Barrel Smoker (a smoked wee heavy ale), Hop Box Imperial IPA, and this lovely choice Red Fox Russian Imperial Stout. If you’re aRead More

Coronado Brewing Company Tap Takeover

I love a tap takeover.  It’s a good way to try a bunch of beers from the same brewery without having to actually go the brewery.  If you can, get yourself to one.  In my area, I keep up to date with these events through @CheersSJ (Kramer Beverage Company).  I saw this event coming up at Fins in Cape May and alerted my “crew”.   Coronado Brewing is across the country in California and the chances that I’ll make it to the brewery in the near future are slim toRead More

Prairie Artisan Ales: Bomb

My beer boyfriend struck again and sent me this Bomb from Prairie Artisan Ales.  It’s one of those beers you hear about a lot but hesitate to buy yourself because it’s not cheap.  I got lucky by having it come as a gift.  The little Star Wars R2D2 car was an added bonus. Bomb is an Imperial stout aged on coffee, cacao nibs, vanilla beans, and ancho chili peppers. Those flavors might sound crazy and they are.  Individually, they’re some of my favorite things, but I wasn’t sure how theyRead More

Weyerbacher ‘Old Heathen’

Being the stout fan I am, of course I had to give this a try. I’ve actually never tried a Weyerbacher brew before. But ya know me, I’m always up to try new beers! It’s pretty damn tasty. Nice flavors all around. It’s definitely not a beer for the faint of heart. So if you’re not into this type of beer, I wouldn’t waste your time. Me personally though? I think it’s a good one. Overall: 3 out of 5 Keg Rating

Wild Onion ‘Drago Russian Imperial Stout’

I went to a local liquor store for a “tasting”, but it wasn’t much of a tasting, honestly. So I redirected myself to their craft beer aisle. This beer caught my eye. Being a big stout fan, of course I had to try Drago. Later on that day I poured myself one, and I must say it’s pretty damn delicious. Bursts with flavor. Pretty much heaven in my mouth. I enjoyed it so much, I asked my fiancé to have a taste. Her response wasn’t as enthusiastic as mine. “OhRead More
