Holy Crap! By Mispillion River Brewing Co

So they announced that Delaware’s Mispillion River Brewing Company was finally going to be available in New Jersey last week.  As per usual, I felt it my personal mission to get my hands on one (or 3 as the case may be) and welcome them to Jersey. Holy Crap! is an Imperial Red Ale with a 9.0 ABV.  Besides having an awesome name and kick ass graphics, it’s also a really good beer.  I said it at first sip and I’ll say it again: Holy Crap!  It’s easy to drinkRead More

Lagunitas ‘Censored Rich Copper Ale’

Yes. The only reason I picked this up was because of the label. I was intrigued. ‘Censored’ Rich Copper Ale from Lagunitas is pretty damn tasty. It’s definitely different, for sure. I tasted a hint of Leprechaun tears. Now, I’m not sure if they have any Leprechauns on staff, I’m just saying. I say give Censored a whirl. By whirl, I mean try it, not spin it around. That wouldn’t end up very well, I don’t think. The Straight Hops: 3 out of 5 Keg Rating

Lagunitas ‘Undercover Investigation Shut-Down Ale’

The bottle label pulled me in. Not that I would’ve been opposed otherwise, considering every beer I’ve tried that they make I have thoroughly enjoyed. But this is probably my favorite so far. It is so good. Honestly, if you see this and pass it up, you have no idea what you’re missing. It blasts your taste buds with deliciousness. It’s a strong beer, at over 9%, but you’d never know it by the taste. The only thing that sucks about this beer is I only had 6 of them.Read More

Lakefront Brewery ‘Extended Play Session IPA’

I’m in to trying Session Beers these days. The low ABV of these brews is going to make for a perfect companion during the Football season come September. Searching for the perfect one isn’t going to be easy, but someone has to put in all the hard work, and I’m up for the challenge. Someone has to do it, right? You’re welcome. That brings us to ‘Extended Play ISA’, from Lakefront Brewery. This India Session Ale clocks in at low 4.2%. That’s what I’m talking about. Will this be theRead More

Sierra Nevada ‘Bigfoot Ale’

I’ve kinda been on a Sierra Nevada kick as of late. I just can’t get enough of their fantastic brews. As I was walking through the aisle, ‘Bigfoot Ale’ caught my eye.  I’ve never even heard of this beer before, so of course I had to pick it up.   Now fast forward a few days… I finally decide to give it a try, and man, it’s nothing like I was expecting. I’ve never had a barleywine beer before this, and honestly, I doubt I will again. It is definitelyRead More

Stone ‘Arrogant Bastard Ale’

Very, very good beer. Arrogant Bastard is true to its name, If you partake in a few too many of these, then I believe you will become one. I grabbed a mix 12 of Stone last weekend and was delighted these were mixed in. It had been awhile since I had one, and I’m quite happy I was able to enjoy a few more this weekend. Has great flavor. Bit of a bite, but just to my liking. Overall: I give it a 3 outta 5 Keg Rating Definitely grabRead More

Coney Island Brewing ‘Hard Root Beer’

None of us knew what was really going on, if you sit back and think about it. We were just kind of oblivious, living our lives, drinking our beer. The hard truth is, we were unknowingly thrust into the middle of a battle, a battle of… “The Root Beer Wars”.(Insert awesome music here) Having already tried ‘Not Your Father’s Root Beer’, I was bound by duty to pick up Coney Island Brewing’s latest offering, ‘Hard Root Beer’. Truth be told, I actually picked up the 6-Pack for @CrazyKegs, I onlyRead More
