Founders Brewing Company.
This is a brewery where you can almost always be assured that you’re going to enjoy whatever you try from them.
That being said, I wasn’t entirely sure about grabbing ‘Pale Joe’, their pale ale brewed with coffee release.
It’s definitely not a style of beer I think about drinking often, or at all, to be honest.
But hey, sometimes ya gotta go outside of your wheelhouse, otherwise things would get pretty boring.
Besides, @CrazyKegs was with me, so I figured even if I wasn’t a fan at least he’d have a couple.

I wasn’t expecting it to pour as light as it did even though it’s a Pale Ale, you know, the whole coffee “thing”.
‘Pale Joe’ actually has a decent taste, as the coffee flavor wasn’t as overpowering as I thought it might be, so that works.
The smell though, upon each sip, was just a blast of coffee up your nostrils.
I know, what did I expect for trying this style of beer?
I’m not all that bright, apparently.
Anyway, this one just isn’t for me, but I could see why someone else might enjoy this beer.
Will I finish the rest of them? Yes.
Will I buy it again? Not likely.
I’ll still pick up anything new from Founders I see, they’ve absolutely earned the benefit of the doubt with their beer.
The Straight Hops: 2 out of 5 Kegs

I like beer. I drink beer. Sometimes, I even review beer. If I feel like it...
