I can honestly say, when I first got into the world of “craft beer” quite a few years ago, Dogfish Head Brewery was the one that hooked me with their IPAs.
I first tried the 60 minute, which is really good.
Then I tried the 90 minute, which is even better.
Then one day, a buddy of mine told me he found a bottle of Dogfish 120 minute IPA. It was $13 for a bottle, so he only picked up the one, never having tried it before. He brought it over one night and we split it.
We’ve been in love with this brew ever since that night.
But, little did I know back then, you couldn’t just go to the store and buy this beer on any given day.
So, after some research, we figured out when we would be able to find 120 Minute IPA in stores. I’ve been stocking up ever since, as 120 Minute IPA is one of those brews that ages well, kind of like me…
I’ve had a few bottles of 120 cellared for a few years now, and I have some that I just acquired over this past year. I put one in the fridge that I picked up two years ago that I’ve been saving for a special occasion for a few months.
Well, I figured getting married was a special as an occasion as I’ll ever have to pop it open, so this past weekend I opened her up.
Man, it was just amazing.
So rich in flavor. Now, this beer isn’t for the faint of heart, it’s boasts around an 18% ABV. So don’t go chugging this down and miss the perfection you have in a glass. Sip this beer, don’t chug.
For one, if you don’t sip, it’ll put you on your ass.
And two, enjoy the beautiful taste and flavor that just erupts on every slow sip.
If you haven’t been able to come across this one yet, I highly recommend you keep a look out on when they are distributing. If you’re a hop head, in my opinion, this is one of the tops in the game to try.
It’s a bit pricey, but worth every penny. Go get it! Or maybe two, so you can let one age.
I have one that’s going on 4 years of aging. I’m gonna pop that one open on another special occasion in the future. This beer doesn’t disappoint.
I can’t stress this enough, GO GET IT!!!
Overall: I give this a 5 out of 5 Keg Rating
