Abita ‘Purple Haze’

Beer ReviewI stumbled upon this super secret Craft Beer Mix 12 pack last week, real spy type stuff, so it was super exciting.
Okay, maybe it was no James Bond kinda thing, but I didn’t know what beer was included until I opened the pack when I got home.
I guess I could have cheated, and opened one there to see, but that’s no fun.
There was quite an interesting mix of beer, but most were between 8-10% abv, so I decided on one of the lower options.

You guessed right!
The Beer I chose was Abita ‘Purple Haze’.
I’ve had this beer once before, if I remember correctly, and sometimes I remember correctly.
But, that was way before I was a “Superstar Professional Beer Reviewer Guy”.
You can laugh about that now, if you like, I giggled a little myself.

So, ‘Purple Haze’ is brewed with raspberries, and I wasn’t sure how I felt about that.
I’m pretty sure I’ve never actually eaten a raspberry in my life.
I went with this beer because it was only 4.2%, and I wanted something light to start my evening.
Or early afternoon, whatever, don’t judge.
It wasn’t awful.
‘Purple Haze’ is definitely a drinkable beer, just maybe a tad too sweet for my liking.
I’d probably have it again, but I don’t think I could drink more than one in a single sitting.

I like beer. I drink beer. Sometimes, I even review beer. If I feel like it...
