Southern Tier ‘Right*O*Way IPA’

Here we go again. I love a good IPA. I love the idea of session beers. What do we have here? A session IPA from Southern Tier brewing? I’m game. Okay, so this isn’t my first rodeo with this beer, but I realized I never wrote about ‘Right*O*Way IPA’, so here we are. I’m sure I’ve had more than 10, but if I checked in every beer, you might start to think I have a problem… I’m a fan of this brew. It’s quite tasty, especially for a Session IPA.Read More

Adam Bomb American IPA Blackstone Brewery

Adam Bomb IPA  @BlackstoneBrew   American IPA ABV 7.3%   This heavenly version of an American IPA hails from the town of Nashville. I received a six pack of this great beer from my buddy (Tennessee Tony) who recently move to the Nashville area. When I first tasted this brew, I declared “Bombs Away Hop Explosion from Music City” loudly and with some strange looks from my neighbors. When you first open this, you can tell this is a West Coast Style IPA as all the hop goodness hits yourRead More

Boxcar “Boomer Brown Ale”

Chris Anderson Twitter: @Essau1969   Let me start by saying, that I am a big fan of Brown Ales. With the weather turning colder and the days getting shorter, these are the styles of beer to try, even if you have not enjoyed them in the past. Today I am enjoying @boxcarbrewery “Boomer Brown Ale”. This is a wonderful tasting session Brown Ale that I could drink all day long. When you first have a taste of this beer, you get a nice caramel flavor with hints of cocoa & driedRead More

Yuengling IPL

You know when you see those annoying polls or questions that go something like “What beer would you pick if you could only drink one specific beer for the rest of your life”? I hate those questions because for one thing it’s silly and not plausible and the other thing is I don’t want to think about a world where I can only have one kind of beer for the rest of my life.  That being said, if I had to choose one beer for the rest of my life,Read More

The Traveler Beer Co. ‘Jolly Traveler Winter Shandy’

I’m not much of a Shandy guy. For what it’s worth, I’m not even much of a Shandy girl, if you can believe that. I’ve tried a few different ones, here and there, they just aren’t a style that usually does it for me. The moral of the story is: I generally don’t pick up this type of beer to try. I’m pretty sure there was a similar moral in ‘Aesop’s Fables’, something involving a Tortoise and a Hare, but don’t quote me on that. The label drew me inRead More

Great Lakes Brewing Co.

Beer events down this far south in South Jersey are few and far between, especially in the off season, so my interest was piqued when I peeped the CheersSJ site and saw the Great Lakes Brewing Company Tap Takeover at Fins in Cape May.  I’ve had a few Great Lakes beers, but they were mostly at beer fests and as part of flights. What I did have made me want to try a few more and check out Fins that just opened after a total makeover of the former PilotRead More

Abita ‘Purple Haze’

I stumbled upon this super secret Craft Beer Mix 12 pack last week, real spy type stuff, so it was super exciting. Okay, maybe it was no James Bond kinda thing, but I didn’t know what beer was included until I opened the pack when I got home. I guess I could have cheated, and opened one there to see, but that’s no fun. There was quite an interesting mix of beer, but most were between 8-10% abv, so I decided on one of the lower options. You guessed right!Read More
